Career Notes. Billy took quite some time to break into the Killie side. Was the best right back in Scotland from 1969-71. A member of the 64-65 league winning squad. (and the last member to leave Rugby Park in 1974.) Had an alarming loss of form during the 72-73 season, in which Killie were relegated and subsequently went part-time. Lost his spot due to the emergence of Stuart McLean & Alan Robertson both of whom went onto serve Killie for 10 + years. Will never be forgotten for marking England's Geoff Hurst out the game in front 138,000 at Hampden in a 0-0 draw, in 1970. (Read some where that England were World Cup holders at the time).
