Do You Remember ?
Colin Nish

2003-2008

Full Name: Colin Nish

Nickname: Van 'Nish'telrooy or Bambi!

Squad No: 9

Position: Striker

Date of Birth: 7th March 1981

Birth Place: Edinburgh

Height: 6ft 3ins

Former Clubs: Dunfermline, Alloa (loan), Clyde (loan)

Signed for Killie: 1st July 2003

Left Killie: Jan 31st 2008, sold to Hibs after rejecting the club's best offer, after having signed a pre-contract season 2008-09 with the capital club.

Notes: Colin spent the majority of his early years trying to break into the first team at East End Park but in six years he only managed two starts and 22 substitute appearances. In a bid to maintain his fitness (or just get a game) he had two loan spells at Alloa and one at Clyde where he managed to score 13 goals in 32 appearances. Jim Jefferies brought Colin to Killie under freedom of contract during the close season in 2003 as a squad player and to his credit he managed to score ten goals in 32 (17 starts) appearances in his first season...along with Kris Boyd the first Killie players to get into double figures since the heady days of Paul Wright. While he is a very tall player, Nish is not a conventional target man and indeed his heading skills are not the best part of his game.
Needs regular first team football if we are to ever see what he is capable of.

Contract Update
: In May of 2007, Colin was signed up for another full season thru May of 2008.

Contract Update Jan 30th 2008 : Kilmarnock striker Colin Nish has signed a pre-contract agreement which will see him move to Hibernian in the summer.

The 26-year-old frontman has been with Kilmarnock since 2003 and has hit seven goals in 22 league games this season, after scoring 13 goals in 33 league appearances last term.

Kilmarnock manager Jim Jefferies said..."We got informed of that this morning. Players are now allowed to go at the end of their contracts and he's had a few offers and he's agreed to go to Hibernian. I don't think any player intentionally goes out to particularly concentrate on where they are going, but I think subconsciously it does affect their performances and we will just have to wait and see if it does affect him."

And on Jan 31st 2008... Hiberni
an have agreed a deal to sign Kilmarnock striker Colin Nish immediately. Nish signed a pre-contract with Hibernian on Wednesday and was set to join in the summer on a 'Bosman' free transfer. However the clubs have now agreed on a fee to allow Nish to leave Rugby Park without having to serve the remaining months of his Killie deal. Nish, 26, has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract at Easter Road. Hibernian manager Mixu Paatelainen told the club's official website: "Colin Nish was a name that was put to me straightaway when I came in but I couldn't decide because I hadn't seen the player. "I knew he was a tall centre-forward who had scored a couple of goals but after seeing him I decided he is a player who will hopefully help us".
