Kenny Armstrong 1978-83

Born: 31/1/59 Shropshire, England

Signed: 1978 by Willie Fernie

After Killie: Transferred to Southampton (Notts Co on loan), Birmingham City, & Walsall.

Position: Central Defense

Club Honours: Member of the 1981-82 promotion winning side.

Other Career Highlights:  Kenny played over 100 games for Killie and was a standout during 82-83 campaign, when Killie were relegated with only 3 wins in 36 outings. Southampton then bought him for a mere £40K.Kenny then played 26 matches in their best ever season where they finished 2nd to Liverpool.  During the 83/84 Kenny also played along side "Cowboy" McCulloch while on loan for 10 matches to Notts Co.

Kenny then move on to Birmingham City for 2 seasons , playing in over 60 matches for the "Blues". He was then sold to Walsall for
£ 125,000 (over 3 times what Killie got!) in 1986, but never made an appearance for them, as a serious knee injury ended his playing career at the age of 27!
