Born in Dec 1969, in Kilmarnock & imaginatively knick-named "Big
Kev", McGowne was signed by Alex Totten in 1996 from St Johnstone.
Played in the centre of Killie's cup-winning side in 1997 Bounced around
after leaving Killie in 2002, to such places as Dundee Utd, and most
recently plays for a Gus
MacPherson
managed St Mirren outfit.
The Buddies were also Kevin's first professional club in 1991.
Surprised many when manager Jim Jefferies released him in 2002, as it
was thought by many that he still had a good few seasons left in him.
Apart from his
97 Cup Final heroics (bandaged head and all!), Kevin will be
remember for 2 other things.....
- Scoring a vital Beckham-eske freekick
against Hearts
