Stevie Fulton was signed June of 2002, on a
free transfer from Hearts by his former boss Jim Jefferies. He was
reported to have weight provisions written into his playing contract.

His first full season was 2002-03 where he captained Killie to their
best SPL season ever, and a 4th place finish. He was subsequently voted
by many the Player of the Year for that season.
The following season he looked more than a year slower, and was lacking
pace, despite being able to pass a ball where he directed it. Along with
many
of Killie's 2003-04 outings, Baggio started to take brunt of the fans
dismay. His last match was in Jan 2004 when Killie hosted Hibernian and
lost
0-2. The biggest cheer of the day from the home support was the
sub'ing of Fulton before the hour mark. (This was a
real "talking point at the time on this site's message boards, with the
final thought being that these cheers/jeers were "well out of order")
Eric Skora went on to make his
debut, and replaced Fulton for the remainder of the season.
Fulton Sets
the Record Straight on his "Baggio"
Nickname.....Former Celtic boss Billy McNeill never said
he had the skills of the Divine Ponytail.
Fulton, 33,
said: 'Baggio had performed so well for Italy at the
World Cup and at that time I'd just broken through at Celtic and was
performing well."
Billy McNeil
said, 'If Baggio is worth this much, how much will Fulton
be worth in a few years?' '/Baggs%20Shirt%20Pulled%20SF.jpg)
Fulton.....
"He wasn't exactly comparing like with like but his
comments were exaggerated. They never bothered me, even when fans came
up to me in the streets and told me I couldn't lace Baggio's boots."
'At the start it was a p*** take but now
it has become a term of affection and even Killie and Hearts fans have
given me the nickname.
'It has never affected me in the least.
To be honest, I get more offended
when people come up to me and say I don't look as fat as I do on the
telly.
'That happens quite regularly and they
expect me to take it as a compliment.'
Fulton, while recovering from a hip
operation, was released by Killie in May of 2004.
