Signed
in 1961 from St Mirren. Left in 1965 for Southampton Was the first choice
National keeper when Campbell he headed off down south. He won 4 Scottish
caps making his debut in a memorable 1-0 win over England on April 11th
1964, at Hampden. Was injured during the epic 64-65 title winning
championship run-in with Hearts. His position was covered most ably by
Bobby Ferguson ,who went on himself to displace Campbell as Scotland's No
1, in 1965-66. Looked like Killie "kept" the better of two international
keepers!
Campbell will also be remembered for his heroics in the Killie
goal, in helping Killie win their first ever Euro tie Vs
Eintracht Frankfurt.
