2010-11 Season Player News & Quotes:

Sept 9th After The Transfer Window Closed and He Stayed at Rugby Park....
It's always nice when teams want you but now I can just concentrate on playing for Kilmarnock and that's what I want to do. It was fine for me. Some people were asking me what was happening but I didn't know so that was it.  But I would rather move it to one side for now and concentrate on playing for Killie. We play St Mirren on Saturday and hopefully we can get a positive result. I want to do as well as I can for Killie and help the team get some good results.  At the start of the season I think we just wanted to stay up but we have been playing well and we got a good result at Aberdeen, It was massive to get our first three points after we had been beaten in our first two games when we should probably have taken something out of them. Now we want to push on as much as we can.  The gaffer has brought a new freshness in to the way we play the game and has has brought new ideas.  We sometimes do two training sessions per day. Sometimes it's two football sessions, sometimes it's football and then conditioning circuits. He also uses a lot of sports science. It took us a little time to get used to it but it's beginning to work. All the new boys who have come in have done well and they are all the same as me, they want to push on. To get the first three points is always a relief and we want to build on that and get a positive result against St Mirren.  I think they beat us four times last season in league and cup games so know it will be a really difficult game."

Oct 22nd on Killie Under Mixu... "We are playing a totally different formation, I don't think a lot of the boys have played it before. We are trying to pass from the back instead of playing the long ball and everyone wants to get on the ball. I think the fans are enjoying it a lot more and I think the players are as well, It's good to watch but we are not getting the results just now because of sloppy goals and it kills you a bit. We have given away sloppy goals but that's up to us to cut it out and hopefully we can do that in the coming weeks and build on that. We have been playing well in every game apart from the first half against Hamilton. We are scoring quite a few so if we keep it tight at the back then we will be okay. It gives us hope,"

"We knew when they came up from the First Division that they were a good team. They are a big strong team who work hard and they can cause teams in this league - a lot of problems - and the results have shown that. Our performances have maybe matched a team in fourth place but we just haven't got the results."

Nov 20th on Making His Scotland Debut....Craig Bryson got a big lift after coming on for Scotland against the Faore Islands a

The Kilmarnock midfielder earned his first cap in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Faroe Islands, along with goalkeeper Cammy Bell. Bryson insists the experience has been a massive boost for himself and clubmate Bell and hopes the feelgood factor surrounding the club at the moment will carry on into today's lunchtime visit of Rangers in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.

Reflecting on his international appearance, he said: "I don't think it really sunk in properly at the time. I was just delighted I had the chance to get on and I thank Craig Levein for that. Hopefully in the future, I can get a few more caps.

"All my mates have texted me and some of my ex-managers have been in touch, so it's good to have that support and to know that they all still look out for me. Everybody at the club is also delighted that Cammy and myself got the chance, it gives us a lift and I think it gives the club as a whole a lift.

June 3rd 2011 Killie Sell Bryson to Derby Co... Kilmarnock have agreed a £450,000 deal to sell their captain Craig Bryson to Championship club Derby County

The Scotland midfielder, 24, is expected to sign a three-year contract with the Rams once he passes a medical.

The Rugby Park club will receive an initial transfer fee of £350,000 and a further sum of about £100,000 based on appearances.

Bryson, who played 135 games for Killie, was under contract there until the summer of 2013.

He was the subject of a couple of bids from Hearts last summer, but Kilmarnock chairman Michael Johnston rejected the offers from their Scottish Premier League rivals.

The midfielder joined Kilmarnock from Clyde in 2007 and made his Scotland debut as a substitute against the Faroe Islands in November.

Bryson was a member of Clyde's historic 2007 cup winning side that beat a Roy Keane captained Glasgow Celtic.

Bryson's departure from Rugby Park follows that of defender Frazer Wright , who joined SPL side St Johnstone on freedom of contract.
