"Mixu has brought fresh ideas and the boys have responded, we're all really enjoying it. He's got a system of play that he wants us to stick to that he's passed on to us, It's been enjoyable, he and Kenny (assistant manager Shiels) work really well together and I think that their positivity is spreading through the team.

"If we can take some of that, we can have a good season. Last season was difficult and obviously a lot of things were well documented with the changing of managers and spats between players and the chairman.

But, from day one, the manager's been straight up. He tells us everything and it's been fine.

"James (Dayton) has got that raw desire because he's been out of the game for a while, I think that showed against Rangers and he'll be an asset to our team as he has that drive and creativity. I'm pleased with how the new boys have settled in and the way we played at Ibrox, so there are some good things to take away.

People will say we will be fighting for survival, but we've got to aim our goals higher as it's a different season, a different manager, a different everything."
