Gary McCutcheon

Full Name: Gary Kyle McCutcheon

Nickname: Cutchy

Position: Forward

Date of Birth: 8th October 1978

Birthplace: Dumfries

Height: 5ft 5ins

Weight: 12st 0lbs

Former Clubs: KFC Youth Team, Stenhousemuir (loan), Clydebank (loan), Portadown (loan), Dumbarton (loan)

Signed KFC: 18th August 1995

Departed: 8th Jan 2003

Jan 8th 2003...Striker Gary McCutcheon today left Kilmarnock Football Club. McCutcheon, who's has impressed in various loan spells, failed to capture a regular place in the Killie first team and it has been mutually agreed to terminate his contract.

Notes: With a total of six starts and sixteen appearances as a substitute (scoring two goals in the process) since he signed in 1995, it doesn't seem as if Gary is going to get the chance of a sustained run in the first team at Rugby Park. He's been off on loan on numerous occasions and has always done a job wherever he's been but still hasn't forced his way into the manager's plans (Bobby's or latterly Jim's) on a more permanent basis. It seems like Gary has been here for years and I find it hard to believe that he's only 25, however, he's worked under several managers at the club and not one of them has seen any reason to dispense of his services so he must have something to offer. He is a grafter and has turned in some fine performances in the few appearances he has made but his lack of height has probably held him back. He's good on the ball but seems to fit in better behind the front two than as an out-and-out striker. Went  on loan to Dumbarton (until January) where he was banging them in!
