Do You Remember ?

Tommy McLean 1964-71

Tommy McLean was one of my boyhood idols, and it broke my heart when he was sold off to Rangers. Tommy will always be remembered as one Killie's 1964-65 Championship Winning Team.

Tommy also featured as one our "Euro Hero's" the night we sank Eintracht 5-1 at Rugby Park. He was a right winger who picked up 2 Scottish caps while with Killie. He went on to win all the domestic trophies with Rangers & a European Cup Winners Cup medal also! He subsequently had a decent managerial career with Motherwell & Dundee Utd. Tommy today is part of Rangers scouting system.

Tommy McLean (Now)

One last funny story about Tommy I saw him on the way into Ibrox on Oct 28th 2000 the day Killie beat Rangers 3-0 up there.

I asked Tommy (while wearing my Killie top)..... how will "WE" get on today ... he answered "you'll get beat!" ...... funnily enough I saw Tommy on the way out ..... and he said to we "we won!!" .... a bit of the old turn coat there ? ..... But it was at least nice to think there was "a bit O Killie still in him after all these years"..... Allan
