Like
many of the other die-hard Killie exile's out there, one of the things I
today
look
forward to on match-days... is the excellent mostly all-Killie banter,
from Killie's official website broadcast team. Their program is called
"Killie World", and is subscription fee based service, which can be
purchased by clicking on the above logo.
I
was fortunate enough to visit with the team in Oct of 07 (during the
home SPL Inverness match), and then again on March 1st 2008, for the St
Mirren home match. The team is pictured below from that day!
Here
are some of my thoughts on these gents....
Mike Manley: A true gentleman, very outgoing, and you can tell
he enjoys his role, with his frank enthusiasm. When Killie are behind,
and the match is beyond Ayrshire's finest, Mike will keep us interested
(& somewhat jealous), with where he is heading for his Sat PM dinner
(fish supper anyone?) after the match.
Ian
Sanders: The most distinctive voice of the "Killie World" team,
with his native Geordie accent. Always calm, never gets too over
excited, but always calls it, how he see's it! ... "I just don't
understand how the referee could call that a foul?"
Ryan
Hunter: The youngest member of the team (a goal-keeper I
believe) is probably the most knowledgeable about the opposition's
lineup with his up to date SPL knowledge. Very good at explaining the
Killie's "shape" and talks intelligently about what sub's JJ
should/could make, as each match progresses. Ryan will be 21 in January 09.

Former Team Member:
Martin Sherry: A true Killie
Fan, is Killie thru & thru. Has a good sense of the club's past, and
also keeps a good pulse on the Killie fans moods & current topics, (he
is a big fan of our site's message boards), and aired these opinions on
the broadcasts (i.e. Hooky testimonial anybody?). Tries not to be biased
in his commentary, so much so, last season he thought Hibs were due 4 pen's
(instead of the 3 they got!!). Also Martin was always the first to be
sure that the "Killie World" team's broadcast had broken away from A*r
Hospital Radio, so he could have the appropriate "dig" at Ayrshire's
"other" alleged team.
Today: Martin has joined KFC in the capacity of assistant
"Kit-Man" at the beginning of the 08-09 season. (But we're all hoping
for a few guest appearances on the broadcast).
.......... Good Luck Martin... all help in keeping Killies "socks pulled
up" .... is most appreciated!
In the studio the team is supported by Ken Bell, who
provides real time score updates from through out the UK. Very important
if your second team is down south!
If you
haven't signed up yet... I would highly recommend this great service.
Cheers
