Well-know Killie author David Ross noticed the book thread on the Kickback forum and to put a few minds a rest sent us the following letter of recommendation...

Baz,

I saw a piece about Rob Hadgraft's book on your site with someone saying he didn't recognise the name and wondering if it was a cut-and-paste job. I think I can put your poster's worries to rest.

I was contacted by Rob Hadgraft via Allan Auld and have been conducting correspondence with him since then. He's a freelance journalist based in Essex who has written a number of football books and he's done his homework for this one, conducting a number of interviews with players and fans. He's well aware of other publications by myself, Richard Cairns, John Livingston and Gordon Allison.

Desert Island Books are publishing titles on sides which have won the title once and once only. I bought the one on Motherwell and it's a great read - far superior to the recent Motherwell history.

Based on both the publisher and the author's track record I'd have no hesitation in recommending it to Killie fans as a great memento of a marvellous time. I'm expecting a copy of the text any day now which I've agreed to check for factual errors.

Regards

David Ross

We are also being sent a copy and will do a full review after we've read it. Watch out also for David's new book which is due out in May!
