Brown Leaves Raith Feeling Blue!
Another hat-trick from goal machine Brown and a rare strike from Sneddon.
FC Kilmarnock 9 - 0 Raith Rovers LFC On Sunday FC Kilmarnock moved one step closer to retaining the Scottish cup for the third year running with a convincing victory over fellow Premier League side, Raith Rovers. The champions have been in great form over recent weeks and Sunday saw them continue in that vein with a superb display of attacking football. The home side dominated from the start and although initially the game was a little scrappy, a 22 minute opener from Pauline Hamill saw the Killie girl's take charge and never really looked troubled by the visitors. Further first half goals from Hammill, Brown, Love, and Hough, brought the game to 5-0 at the break and left a deflated Raith side almost dead and buried even before the second half had started. Killie maintained their dominance with some tricks and flair and continued to pound on the Rovers goal. With
second half goals from Sneddon, Love, and another double from Linda Brown the game
finished 9-0 in favour of the champions. The team will now face FC
Hamilton in the Cup Semi Final, the date and venue of which is still to be confirmed. FC Kilmarnock: Johnstone, Kerr, Smith, Cheyne (Burns 55), Fowler (Lou 75), Sneddon, Hammill, McLaughlin (Hind 55), Love, Brown, Hough. Match Report courtesy of Angie Hind |
