Killie Girls Go Nap in First Match!

East Fife LFC 4 - 5 FC Kilmarnock Girls
(SWFL Match - 26th August 2002, 2.00pm Kick Off)

The new season kicked off for FC Kilmarnock's Divisional team at the weekend, a newly formed team who will play their matches in the third Division. They traveled to Leaven for their 1st League game against East Fife and scored a fine away victory.

The team started the match well and goals came from Naomi Johnstone, Lindsay McQuade (2) and Toni Masson to give the girls a 4-0 lead at the interval. After the interval East Fife battled their way back into the match, drawing level at four apiece.

It was an own goal that was to be the difference between the sides with the Kilmarnock Team running out 5-4 winners. A great start to the season for this new team. The next game is at Scott Ellis on Sunday 1st September against Arbroath at 2.00pm.
