just two minutes later Paul McLaren drove in an equaliser for the

Jim Jefferies......"We lacked
an out-and-out goalscorer and that is what Gary is. When your top scorer and
main striker, Craig Dargo, finishes the season with seven goals you know
something is not right. When I had him at Hearts he became a Scotland
internationalist. I know what he can do and I've given him the opportunity
to show his ability, now it is up to him, I have also been delighted with
Stevie (Fulton) . He was extremely unlucky last year, because any time he
came on he turned the game in Hearts' favour - but for whatever reason he
was not a regular starter. He knows himself he has to work harder than most
and with the frustration of not playing, he'll admit that he let himself go
a bit. Again, I told him there was a chance of a contract if he worked hard
in the summer and I don't think I've even seen him look so lean. The
contract is designed to keep his weight down and when he's in that shape,
he's a great player because he's one of the best passers of the ball in the
country."

Gary McSwegan ......"That
chapter (Hearts)is closed now so it is time for me to move forward. I am
grateful for the chance and hopefully I will be able to score a few more
goals for the club once the season starts,"
