Bazcelona 3 - 5 Kickin' Squirrels
This match report will be brief, mainly because I can't bloody remember much of the game due to having to concentrate on breathing! One minute into the game and Monty slid into a challenge just on the bye line and pulled his hamstring, he hobbled on valiantly for fifteen minutes or so but eventually was replaced by me leaving only Dougie McCrone on the bench for Bazcelona and a weakened defence...weakened due to my inclusion of course! Prior to that however, Bazcelona's new star striker Jaconelli had put the home side ahead with a well taken goal in the fifteenth minute and the challengers looked pretty comfortable up until Monty's mishap. Despite the introduction of the Bazcelona player/manager, the home side went further ahead in the 19th minute via the right boot of the same player who had broken the deadlock, Jaconelli, but the Squirrels were starting to get into the game. In fact they scored the next five goals (38, 48, 75, 77 & 85 minutes) and the rest is a blur. Milad and Ferguson scored two apiece but I'm not sure about the other one! There were rolling subs (literally) so I could not keep track of that either. Jaconelli scored the last goal in the dying seconds and we lost 5-3. I'll see if Bungle can come up with a better report...here's the photos just now anyway...
On hindsight it was a bad move for me to write this report as I thought at least three of the Squirrels goals were offside and as yet I cannot remember who scored them but I will check with wimp and update this file
