Kilmarnock FC - Player Profiles 2002-03

No.6 - Freddie Dindeleux

Full Name: Frederic Dindeleux

Nickname: Freddie

Position: Centre Half (Left Sided)

Date of Birth: 16th January 1974

Birthplace: Lille, France

Height: 5ft 11ins

Weight: 12st 6lbs

Former Clubs: Olympique Lille SC

Signed KFC: 23rd July 1999

Notes: Freddie, now the club captain, was tracked by then manager Bobby Williamson for a while during the summer of '99 and must surely rank as one of his finest acquisitions ever. He was initially signed as a left back but since moving into the left centre back berth he has proved time and time again that he should possibly be the first name written down on the team sheet prior to every match. Freddie has fortunately avoided any major injuries in his time at the club so far which we can only be grateful for as the first game he missed in ages (in 2001-02) saw us conceding five goals at home to newly promoted Livingston, prompting boss Williamson to say: "I knew we would miss his presence, I just didn't know it would be that much!" There was much transfer speculation surrounding Freddie last season but the club denied any official approaches. It's got to be said though that a player of his undoubted abilities is bound to attract interest especially given his current form. Credit to the Frenchman, he did not court this publicity in an attempt to win himself a lucrative transfer even though he'd have been well within his rights to do so. He just knuckled down and got on with the job in hand...long may it continue.

Freddie has been a rock at the back since signing for Killie from Lille during Bobby Williamson's reign - one of Bobby's better moves. He is one of the most consistent defenders in the SPL and was sorely missed when out through injury last season. Seems to be regaining some of the form that has helped Killie become European regulars over the last couple of years.

Why can't everything blue be Killie ?

in a word GOD. That hair and that accent mmmmmmm

Seriously though: Able to command the defence as well as instructing the rest of the team. Has presence in the box both when defending corners etc and even when we are taking a corner. Good in the air. Maybe he isn't the fastest in the world but he certainly makes up for it in other areas!!

Freddie is the rock of our defence. He is one of the best signings Bobby made.

Superb defender and footballer to boot (not literally).

Had he a wee bit extra in height and speed we'd never have seen his like at Killie.

Although he sets a great example to his team mates on the park I don't see him as the out and out leader that can make such a contribution to a team on the park.

Go prove me wrong Freddie!

I'm famous to my pals for chasing him down the corridor when he came to my school!!!!!
But seriously, He's a great player, as long as he stays injury free, we should have a good season!!!!

Everything good has been said about Freddie...SO HERE'S THE BAD.

NEEDS TO SHOUT MORE AND GET MORE AGGRESSIVE
FAR TO NICE (that's the attitude, not the team!)
I would also from a personal point of view like him to attack the ball from corners. At the other end of course.

Would be on the team sheet for every game if I was picking the team. Makes fewer mistakes than most defenders in the SPL. As captain he will lead by example but I don't see him urging/shouting at the team.

I just want to say thanks to Bobby for signing Freddy.

He's a brilliant player, a reliable defender, and deserves to be our captain!

(I forgot to mention how much I love his hair)

Killie's rock in defence. Rarely puts a foot wrong and wins everything in the air, when he's defending. Should win more headers when attacking e.g.. corners and free kicks. Killie's best player!

Great player for Killie and you appreciate how important he is when he's out injured and the defence looks far more shaky. had a bad time with injury last year so it probably wasn't his best but he's still our main man. His insistence on the Monkees hairstyle ensures the Sunday Mail camera man will get endless action shots where it looks like Freddy just swallowed a hand grenade supper out the Chip Bank.

Out of ten - I'd give him one!
Apart from that wee joke - Freddie is the man - lovely voice, good defender, nice hair - boy how we missed him when he was injured.
Not sure how JJ sees him - I for one think he is central to our defence! Go Freddie!

After a start that would make Michael Jeffery blush Freddy turned out to be our most solid defender. Still prone to the odd mistake from time to time but overall a definite plus to the Killie

Slow as a week in the Bar L but his reading of the game more than makes up for that. Times his tackles to perfection and we just luv him.
I hope he sees his days out at RP and I don't understand why he has not made it at a higher level. Their loss!

Definitely one of Bobby's best signings along with Durrant, Marshall and ...........Merdy!!!!! LOL
Solid as a rock, dependable. didn't think last season was his best, could have been better but still very dependable.

Sheer class.
Would be in the heart of defence of any SPL select side and Killie are lucky to have him.
The only worry is for how long? Surely destined for Premiership football (unless his love for Killie keeps him here )

What the f**k is the internet?

Surely the best defender at the club since Monty. Killie's most valuable player, don't know why he hasn't left 2 the premiership. Must be worth a call up 2 the France squad??
