Kilmarnock FC - Player Profiles 2002-03
No.8
- Stevie Fulton
Full Name:
Stephen Fulton
Nickname:
Baggio/Fulters
Position:
Midfielder
Date of Birth:
10th August 1970
Birthplace:
Greenock
Height:
5ft 10ins
Weight:
13st 5lbs
Former Clubs:
Celtic, Bolton, Peterborough (loan), Falkirk, Hearts
Signed KFC:
13th June 2002
Notes:
Stevie arrived at Rugby Park during the close season preceding 2002-03
under freedom of contract after being released by Hearts where he had
spent the majority of his career and was indeed a fans favourite. He made
a £2M big money move in 1993 from Celtic to Bolton but after only a
season, and a short loan spell at Peterborough, he moved on again to Falkirk for £1.2M. This is
the third time that Jim Jefferies has signed Stevie and is obviously a big
fan of his abilities and hopes that he can produce the good for him again
at Killie. Stevie can normally be found on the left hand side of central
midfield and while strong in the tackle, likes to get forward as much as
possible. So far his displays have earned him several man of the match
plaudits (and the captaincy) and it has to be said that he doesn't waste many passes or give
away many balls. Hopefully Baggio will fill the creative void left when
Ian Durrant was forced to retire last season. Seven Under 21 caps for
Scotland.

Stevie
has been playing really well in Midfield and plays well alongside
Hoody.

My
player of the season so far. Might have slagged him in the past
playing for other teams. But has proved himself to the Killie
support with some outstanding displays in midfield. Has great vision
and can pass a ball, which is what we need at the moment. Killie's
second top scorer this season too.
Still ugly though

I'm
a big fan of Stevie. He was Hearts player of the year last year and
after a shaky start for Killie he is turning out to be a great
player for us too

When
he first signed, I wasn't totally convinced about him but now I
think he is one of our better players and controls the midfield.

Scored
two goals in 2 weeks against Rangers and Dundee Utd. I just hope he
keeps banging them in!!! At first I wasn't convinced, but now I
think that JJ has made a good decision in signing him.

In
my opinion our best player this season so far consistently producing
100% effort allied to composure and passing abilities in the middle
of the park. Has scored a couple of goals as well and is arguably
JJ's best signing for us. Keep it up Stevie boy.

The
kind of player you want in your team, but don't want to play
against. Been the best player this season so far, and easily JJ's
best signing

The
kind of player we've been missing since Durranty retired. A
playmaker who will be invaluable to us this season.

Definitely
the best signing by JJ. IMO Fulton's signings rank those of Freddy
and Durrant!

He's
a physical presence that Killie needed when he signed. He made his
mark by keeping Arteta out of the game on the 1st game of the season
and controls the midfield now week in week out. Oh aye and his face
goes with the red strip

We
all had a bit of a go when he first signed. But he's proved a few
doubters wrong. Killie's best player by miles this year and heading
toward POTY status. He looks way fitter than I thought he could
achieve and runs for 90 mins. Shame the game sometimes lasts 94mins

I know what your thinking. Has he fired 5 shots or 6.
Come to think of it with all the excitement, I've kinda lost track
myself. Given this is a Magnum 44, the most powerful hand gun in the
world and would blow your head clean off, the question is do you
feel lucky? WELL DO YA PUNK

far JJ best signing (wouldn't be hard). Has stood out above the rest
of the midfield and has an eye for a defence splitting pass. Only
problem is fitness. normally fades out of the game about 65 mins
gone. Good player to take off if defence needs tightening. |

Stevie
is Killie's best and consistent player. He controls the midfield and
hardly does a bad pass. He certainly gets my vote and can produce
goals as well. Keep it up Steve.
