Kilmarnock FC - Player Profiles 2002-03 Full Name: Alan Scott Mahood Nickname: Hoody Position: Central Midfielder Date of Birth: 26th March 1973 Birthplace: Kilwinning Height: 5ft 8ins Weight: 11st 2lbs Former Clubs: Greenock Morton, Nottingham Forest Signed KFC: 1st August 1998 Notes: It's usually a great thing to actually have a genuine supporter playing for your club, doubly so if he's any good! That certainly seems to be the case with central midfielder Alan Mahood who has already endeared himself to the majority of the Killie support in his time at the club so far. Alan spent the majority of his career at Morton apart from an unhappy short spell in England after a £350,000 move to Nottingham Forest (who were a top club down south at that time) went sour. He scored twice against Killie for Morton during the run that finished in us winning the Scottish Cup and signed for us under freedom of contract the following season, Bobby Williamson who signed him obviously must have liked what he saw! Hoody suffered slightly in his initial spell with Killie due to Ian Durrant's presence in the team but has now emerged from out of Durrant's shadow and is playing some of the best football of his Killie career. Won the 2001-2002 killiefc.com player of the year award and picked it up in person at the presentation which took place in The Howard. Fan's Comments |
