Kilmarnock FC - Player Profiles 2002-03 Full Name: Garry Hay Nickname: Hooky Position: Defender/Midfielder (Left) Date of Birth: 7th September 1977 Birthplace: Irvine Height: 5ft 8ins Weight: 10st 3lbs Former Clubs: KFC Youth Signed KFC: 18th August 1995 Notes: It seems like an eon ago that Garry made his impressive debut with a double strike against Aberdeen at Rugby Park. Now that's the way to make your first impression on the home support! Garry did well under Bobby Williamson in the wing back role when we were playing with three centre half's but his lack of height is a problem when it comes to playing the more orthodox left back role. It seems that Jim Jefferies sees Garry as more of a midfielder than a defender and may lose out in a flat back four to his mate Peter Canero. Garry is a good player and can put good crosses in coming forward, it's just finding a role for him in the first team that could be a problem for the manager...but a problem he's probably delighted to have.
