Kilmarnock FC - Player Profiles 2002-03
No.21
- Chris Innes
Full Name:
Christopher Innes
Nickname:
Johnny Bravo
Position:
Defender (Centre Half)
Date of Birth:
13th July 1976
Birthplace:
Broxburn
Height: 6ft
1ins
Weight:
13st 4lbs
Former Clubs:
Stenhousemuir, St Mirren (loan) & Falkirk (loan)
Signed KFC:
13th May
1998
Notes:
Chris was signed by Bobby Williamson from lowly Stenhousemuir (shouldn't say that really, we've been there too!) and was a fringe player for a couple of seasons. When Bobby started playing with three centre
halves Chris stepped in and proved that he was worthy of a first team place on a more regular basis.
Circumstances recently have curtailed the big man's career at Rugby Park
with a change of manager and some injury problems but as this profile goes
live he is back in full training and ready to make a come back, even
making the bench the first time he was available to JJ. Several 'bigger' clubs have shown an interest in the big defender but he seems happy enough to ply his trade at Rugby Park for the time
being. The new transfer window restrictions may well be to his benefit
when the injuries and suspensions start to kick in and he is well capable
of stepping into the breach.

Good
solid defender, works well along side Freddie, Good in the air and clearing
lines, has the ability to move forward.
And now to the important stuff, he isn't half bad looking!
Rating out of 10: I would give him 1!!

Strong
& confident defender who has all the attributes needed for a
centre half. Unlucky that his hernia operation came along at the
same time as a new manager but will get chances to prove himself.
Apparently doesn't need to work for the rest of his days as he's
made millions from his Johnny Bravo cartoons!!

Tall,
powerful centre-back who takes no prisoners at the back. Is
excellent in the air and solid in the tackle and is surely a must
in the Scotland set up when he completes his recovery from injury.
May have to be patient to get back in the first team, though, if
Barry McLaughlin keeps up his good form.

Never
played badly when he's been in the team (which isn't often enough).
Strong in the air, defends well and would benefit from a real run in
the team. Still young and would start for many teams in this league
(so get him in the starting 11 JJ!) Bloody gorgeous big bloke too!

Big,
strong and a competent defender.
Can be a little naive against experienced attackers but is learning
well from his mistakes.

After
a shaky start, Innes has settled down to become a steady
centre-half. Plays well in a back four, not so sure about a three.
Has managed to cut down the silly bookings he was collecting at the
beginning. He may find it hard to get into the team soon given the
performances so far of the guys in possession of the places.

Johnny
Bravo has a done well since signing from St. Mirren. very good at
heading the ball but will have tough competition to get back in the
squad if Barry McLaughlin continues his good form

I hear they're even coming from...Gdansk to watch

Safe
and solid defender, occasionally caught out when he has time on the
ball and tries to kid on he's a football player.
Good in the air and tries to build from the back rather than just
hump it up the park.
