Kilmarnock FC - Player Profiles 2002-03

No.30 - Chris Boyle

Full Name: Chris Boyle

Nickname: ?

Position: Midfielder/Winger

Date of Birth: 24th August 1984

Birthplace: Irvine

Height: 5ft 7ins

Weight: 9st 13lbs

Former Clubs: None

Signed KFC: 1st August 1999

Notes: Of all the players we've seen in the reserves this season, Chris is definitely one of the brightest prospects. As you can see from the comments below, he is also rated highly by the limited number of fans who have had the pleasure of seeing him in action. Chris was thought to be in front of team mate Stevie Murray for a place in the first team but former manager Williamson opted to play Ruby instead. Plays mostly on the left but is pretty versatile and has pace. Chris has a good chance of making the first team in the future.

Tricky attacking midfielder/winger for the U21s. Was widely tipped for a first team place last season but was just edged out by Stevie Murray. Fast, direct player that can be a match winner on his day.

Good wee player who has noticeably improved over the last 6-9 months in the under 21's. Still young and with normal progression should figure in the first team squad at some time before the end of the season.

Superb skills can do tricks with a golf ball many couldn't do with a football, has the ability to rip defences apart with through balls. Could figure in the first team soon with his performances in the 21's

Very much like what I have seen of this young player. Has a good first touch and has good pace which gets him away from his marker. Tends to be played on the left hand side but is not totally one footed and could be used in a free role as he seems very skillful. Will improve and could be even better when seen beside experienced players if given his chance in the top team. Was actually in front of Murray for a reserve spot last season before the wee man's breakthrough.

Chris has been in the fringes for a while now without getting a first team chance. He's a great player with a lot of skill. Hopefully he'll make the breakthrough and I'll be able to blag comps off him! Not sure about his taste in music though, he went to see Westlife last year!
