Kilmarnock FC - Player Profiles 2002-03

No.50 - David Woodison

Full Name: David Shirley Woodison

Nickname: Woody/The doomed

Position: Defender (Centre)

Date of Birth:  15/02/85

Birthplace: Cumnock

Height: 5ft 9ins

Weight: 11st 1lbs

Former Clubs: None

Signed KFC: 1st August 2002

Notes: At last we get to the boy wonder! We've not seen him play in too many games due to his penchant for sitting on the bench but from what we have seen, he seems a competent enough defender. Solid in the tackle but a little lacking in pace...too many pies and burgers obviously. I'll leave it at that because it's a bit unfair on the lad that we know him so well...suffice to say that Killie director John Dick reckons that he's got what it takes to make it, well who's going to argue with that?

Performed really well in the Youth Cup match against Hamilton Accies. Has an educated right foot but his left has a lot to learn.

Youth team defender, was described last week as the new Bobby Moore. Or could that have been Roger Moore ?

From what I saw of him at the Milk Cup, looks quite a good defender, managed to hold the line and distribute the ball quite well. Also when going for a tackle got stuck in, didn't seem to shirk it.

What can we say about our favourite son - started life as a passionate Killie Hippo contributor but has now turned from poacher to gamekeeper and is potentially the next chairman of KFC. Occasionally fits in a game of football to his hectic schedule and still tries to blag a free Hippo even though he's Killie highest earner! Played well in last weeks youth cup game and if he keeps his head screwed on I hope he turns into a Killie star. Still tends to get upset when reminded he's still Cumnock's eldest virgin.

Scary looking defender from the Cumnock's nebula in quadrant 7 of the galaxy. Made the 18's bench his own but has the qualities to get starts. Still young so got time to improve.

CAPS LOCK KID
Can anybody confirm if he started his career as the CAPS LOCK KID?

That is indeed the (upper) case - I hear he's changing it to the arse skelf kid to reflect his position in the team at the moment.

Tall, Strong, Elegant Centre half. (But enough about me). Mr. Woodison has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot in the U-18's this season. May just be a coincidence but we are challenging for the league this season so it is hard for the manager to justify changes to a winning team. Keep your chin up son and when you get the chance... Number 50
Is he the ugly young guy who parades toy cars on his shoulders at half time on match days? He looks the part, but which part I cannot say as this is a "clean" forum. All the reports I have had about him suggest that he is a hot prospect. If McCoist was the Judge then this prospect must be the Recorder! Hopefully it won't be long before we can boo him like we do the others...oops!
