Well how has Jim done? In the eyes of most Killie
fans, very well, and if the truth be told his squad sits 4th in the SPL on March
1st 2003, which represents an over-achieving club!! Jim has a winning
League record since joining the club, and has engineered much greater
consistency in the teams form. Our home form has been particularly
pleasing keeping in mind in the calendar year of 2001 we won just 7 home
SPL matches.
Jim's Report Card
Best Results...
Killie 1 Celtic 1 (Dec 15th 2002), Livingston 0 Killie 4 (Feb 1st 2003),
Killie 1 Rangers 1 (Aug 3rd 2002).
Worst Results...
Killie 0 Airdrie Utd 0 (Sep 24th 2002), Partick 3
Killie 0 (Nov 30th 2002).
Best Signings...Shields, Fulton,
McSwegan & McLaughlin.
Worst Signing ...Boutal
Best Move ....
adopting a back 3 system, that has brought the best out of Freddie, Bazza,
Shields & Innes. This has also allowed Fowler, Canero (& Hay) to
push up the wing's and take full advantage of their pace!!
Pity about...
Stevie "Ruby" Murray, Jim's formation does not suit
his type of positional wing play (at the moment at least).
Key Strengths...rotating
squad to keep them fresh, ie dropping Dillion after winning SPL young
player of the month, not starting Boyd despite netting several goals as a
sub.
Tactics...
Has done a great job with timely sub's, and changing personnel week to
week based on the competition.
Being Bold...
"Big Kev" & "Bully" being moved on! Never easy
decisions. Sticking with "Sweg's" despite a slow start.
Needs to Work On...
Keeping the score down during Glasgow trips! In the
last 4 trips up there (Partick, Celtic & Rangers twice) we have scored 1
and conceded 19 in losing all 4 matches!
Jim the fans are Happy with....the
teams style of play, and the much improved consistency, and the team's
outlook.
Jim the fans are Un-Happy with...
our cup performances!
Overall job ...
A - or B+ .... as fitba fan yir never satisfied ....
but these are the "good times"!
