McSwegan To Be Given Chance If like me you saw the tea-time news then you will probably think that former Hearts striker Gary McSwegan has been given a short term contract at Killie...but apparently this is not the case. I called Angel Burnett, David Heath's PA who draws up the contracts, and she said: "I'm not sure what they said on the news as I never saw it but I know for a fact that there have been no contracts signed today." After consulting Jim Jefferies she called us back and said: "I've spoken to Jim who said that Gary will joining us for a few weeks training and if he impresses him enough then he will then be given a short term contract, but there has definitely been nothing signed as yet." Jim spoke of his desire to sign more players during the short TV piece, he said: "I think that we still need some height and strength up front, we've been lacking that since Michel Ngonge left last year. I've been working quietly in the background on resolving that situation and we hope to have something tied up soon." Jim is possibly referring to big Chelsea striker Sam Parkin who was reported to be at Rugby Park this week for negotiations regarding a season long loan deal which would see him swap Stamford Bridge (or wherever he was last on loan) for the "Theatre of Pies". Rumours of Dundee United's Jim Hamilton also joining the squad were quashed by Jim as well.
