Big Kev Becomes An Arab

The Scottish Cup hero who will forever be remembered by Killie fans with that bandage round his napper has left the club as of today. It was widely reported in the press this morning that a deal taking him to Dundee United to link back up with Jim Lauchlan was called off when Killie asked for cash compensation as well as the Arabs taking over his contract...but it looks like they were wrong.

McGowne left the pre-season training today after saying his goodbyes to the rest of the players and it doesn't look as if he'll be back. Quite what the transfer details are, are not clear at this time but it seems that the club were stalling on releasing the new squad numbers until he had decided whether or not to take Alex Smith up on his offer.
