Killie In Maradona Bid! I dare say you all read in the newspapers today about the son of football legend Diego Maradona signing a loan deal with Clyde. Well we can exclusively reveal that this wont be happening, if he does come to Scotland it will either be to Kilmarnock or Dunfermline!
Don't go thinking that we might witness the mighty Maradona at Rugby Park though, because he has never even met his son. He was born in 1986 following a one-night stand with his Neapolitan mother - and Diego Senior didn't even recognise him as his son until a DNA test seven years later.
Diego Junior was recently called into the Italian Under-17 side's training camp and, despite being right- footed, is said to show a lot of his father's skill. But Napoli's coaches believe he is more like the Portuguese star Rui Costa in his style. Napoli youth coach Antonio Porta said: "He has a wonderful right foot and takes penalties and free-kicks like his dad. But he must improve his left foot." Our source at Rugby Park said: "We've had him checked out and by all accounts he seems to be a good player. As well as adding to the team, the publicity won't do us any harm either."
Of
course it could be all a big wind up...how close is it to April 1st?
