Peter Canero says he his happy with
current form, and that he's never scored so frequently......
Killie's 22-year-old's goal against Dundee,
which helped the Rugby Park side claim a draw, has taken his tally to
five in his last six games,
and
Canero said: "This is my all-time record.
"Considering I have only scored 10 goals in
my entire career,
this looks like being my best run ever."
Canero says Killie are worthy of a place in the
SPL's top six.
He added: "We have been doing well and have
quietly crept up the table to fourth. We have been on a very good run,
with only two defeats in about 13 games, and that includes the Old Firm,
so we have done well.
"There hasn't been too much recognition for
us, but we've been going about our business and are happy to do that."
"I've never been a
prolific goalscorer and I can't explain where the goals are coming from.
That is five in my last six matches so long may it continue.
"It is a great
feeling when you score and I'm getting stick from the lads for my wild
and stupid celebrations after I hit the net.
"They
think I'm getting too cocky on it.
"I suppose scoring
goals is not necessarily a bad thing to be abused for as it is helping
not only me but the team and I can think of a hell of a lot worse things
to be slagged for."
"At the start of
the season our aim was to finish in the top six. Now we are focused on
trying to overhaul Hearts.
"The lads showed
great fighting spirit to come from 2-0 down against Dundee. Points such
as that could prove vital to us come May."
