Launch Day One - The Park Suite

Saturday morning was the first of the big two day launch of the new season tickets and the events of the day took place in the Park Suite and the Killie Club.

The morning started quite slowly, as you would expect at 9.00am on a free Saturday, but gradually more and more people turned up to buy their new season tickets until quite a wee queue formed. Fortunately, as you can see, the staff were in abundance and coped admirably and the sales went pretty much as well as expected.

A couple of local bands were literally blasting out their stuff in the Killie club and they attracted a fair crowd, and tomorrow another two are lined up including the excellent Underclass. Obviously the acoustics will be different in the hotel but I'd imagine if you are there on Sunday you will have a fair chance of hearing them for yourself...live and loud!

Everything went quite smoothly apart for a minor faux pas with the club forgetting to put the old Killie videos on, but most people were more interested in the teletext scores, the horse racing (god bless Hippo and his tips for once) and the live rugby to bother.

The pie and pint offer seemed to go down well...at least the pies did with us seeing we're off the ale for the moment...and players like Hoody, Bazza and Boydie made impromptu appearances throughout the day after their extra training stint had finished.

The 'Share Centre' operated by Hippo and myself did okay considering the turnover. We matched quite a few up on the day and only have 50 existing season ticket holders in the 'bank' looking to pair up with a new ticket holder. They are all still looking themselves of course and they realise that we can't guarantee anything, but there was NO ONE moaning about anything regardless. Every one was very positive about the two for one initiative.

If you still do not have a match yourself yet you could do worse than come to The Park Hotel tomorrow with your money (and your photo ID if required) between 9am and 5pm and try and find someone on the day, it worked well on Saturday! Remember that you don't need a photo for the season ticket, they take that for you, just something to identify yourself with. Hopefully we'll see you there...
