Change Strips!

Parents worst nightmares will come true next season when Killie release another two brand new strips for season 2003-04. What's bad news for them though will be good news for others because believe it or not a lot of people look forward to the release of the new kit every year, me included. Particularly this year as the collar on the current one is murder! Saying that, I was a big fan of changing the home and away kits in alternate seasons so that there was only one new one every year, but I suppose in this day and age clubs have to bleed every revenue stream dry in a bid to stay afloat.

Killie are currently negotiating with McLelland Cheese as to whether they will take up their one year option on the strip sponsorship but we are assured that if they don't that there are other offers on the table, which would mean two new strips anyway. I saw the design for the new top today, once again by TFG, and I've got to say, it looks okay to me.

The top is the standard blue and white stripes but the stripes are smaller than this seasons in more of a traditional style, the main difference being that there is a blue stripe down the centre instead of a white one. There is a V-neck collar that is white with a horizontal blue stripe round the back that changes to a solid blue V about 3 inches from the front. I'm not sure yet about the shorts or socks but when I find out you will be the first to know.

The away strip is mainly going to be navy blue again with light blue panels at the sides, but again, that's all I know. The Rumour Mill was correct in the fact that there was a gold top produced but I was assured it was "hoachin" and it wont see the light of day, but where does this leave the red strip that has proved so popular this season? That remains to be seen.
