Peter Canero shares his frustration about
playing for a small provincial team that has not gotten much publicity
this term....
"Kilmarnock are not one of the big clubs and there's a lot of
players who have done well this season for us but you feel as if they
have been overlooked because they're Killie players.
"But all I can do is keep plodding on, keep playing well for my
club and the U21s and then hope that I get noticed.
"When you're doing well in the 21s there's always a lot of talk
that your chance will come with the full team. But there's no rush. I
just want to keep progressing at this level and if the chance to go to
the full squad comes then it will be great.
"I think I'm getting closer to that level and being part of the
Scotland Future squad has helped that.
"There's a big step between the U21s and the full side and playing
with the Future squad means you're getting the chance to play
with
some of the other fringe players.
"So when you're part of that you know you're not too far away and
you must be in someone's thoughts. But we'll see what happens."
Not sure where Peter's comments are leading, it sounds like he feels
he's ready for a "Full Cap Call-up", and is either feeling Killie are
now getting "too small" for him, or that Killie are unfairly not getting
the press they deserve.
Or ...perhaps both......Only time will tell!........Allan
