Doomed Debuts in Firhill Draw!

A Goal for Gold                        Woody tries Firhill for thrills

Partick Thistle 2 - 2 Kilmarnock
(SPL Under 21 Match - Firhill, 3rd March 2003, 7.00pm Kick Off)

A youthful Kilmarnock side battled back well to earn a draw after falling two goals behind in the opening five minutes.

Joe Gold got a goal back for Killie midway through the second half and only a minute afterwards Kris Boyd rose well to steer a magnificent header past Budinauckas from Stevie Murray's cross.

Partick goalkeeper Budinauckas left the field injured with 15 minutes remaining. His replacement, Pinkowski, only lasted 30 seconds after he raced out his boxed and saw red for handling Kris Boyd's lob.

Unfortunately Killie were unable to capitalise on their advantage. The game was marred by a late injury to Partick's Gavin Rushford who was rushed to hospital with what appeared to be a serious knee injury.

Partick Thistle: Budinaukas (Pinkowski 75), Howie, Rushford, Whyte, McKinstry, Miller, Fleming, Boyle, Elliot, Gibson, Brawley.
