Killie bounced back from their 5-0 defeat against Portsmouth
with a stirring victory over the Black Cats.
Colin Nish was the
only new "Killie Boy" to start and he made the
most of that chance when he fired us in front
in eight minutes.
Chasing down a slack passback from Ben
Clark, he took on keeper Mart Poom and delivered an ice-cool finish over
the Estonian from 12 yards.
Michael Proctor levelled by
half-time.
Kris Boyd put the home men in front after the break, Invincibile
rolled a great pass to the youngster and with barely a glance up he
walked on to it on the edge of the box and smacked a great right- foot
finish past Poom.
Three minutes later Chris Innes held Kyle
inside the box and ref Steve Conroy pointed to the spot.
Colin Meldrum was
desperately unlucky as he saved Proctor's kick, only to see it rebound
straight to the striker who stroked it home.
Ten minutes from time Killie woke from their
slumbers and killed the Englishmen off with a two-goal blast in three
minutes. The first came from a great advantage played by Conroy as James
Fowler was bundled over looking for the long ball.
It was a stick-on foul but the ref clocked
Boyd moving for the loose ball on the edge of the box and held off the
whistle long enough to see the 19-year-old bury a great finish.
Three minutes later Killie picked up that
bizarre fourth from a corner. Invincibile got in the first shot in but
it was blocked.
Boyd and Nish followed it and a combination
of Poom and the post kept that one out but the Aussie took no prisoners
as he bundled the keeper, the ball, Nish and himself over the line to
make sure. (pictured right).
Killie manager Jim Jefferies revealed after the game that key
defender Freddie Dindeleux may be forced to miss the start of the
season.
The Frenchman limped out of his side's after just 23 minutes.
The influential Frenchman limped out of his side's 4-2 friendly win
over Sunderland after just 23 minutes.
Now Jefferies must wait for news from the medical staff on the extent
of the damage to the defender's groin ahead of their Scottish Premier
League opener at champions Rangers in a week's time.
Jim Jeferries Post
Match Comments...."He (Freddie
D) has done his groin and is getting treatment at the moment. It
will be a few days before we know the extent of the damage.
Freddie had an injury just after the start of last season and was
out but he wasn't too bad towards the end of the season."
"But you want everybody fit and we have added Freddie to a list that
already includes Craig Dargo and Peter Canero and wee Stevie Murray has
been unwell this week."
On his strikers
sharing the goals...
"There is competition for places there now. You need that - a strike
force that is capable of getting goals."

The game was also notable for a bust-up between Killie midfielder
Alan Mahood and Sunderland striker Kevin Kyle.

On the referee...
"The referee let a few things go which made it a
competitive game. Alan felt he got caught with the elbow, retaliated and
the referee booked them. I think it was common
sense to take them (Kyle & Mahood) off."
