Player Profile: 06 - Freddie Dindeleux
Notes: Freddie, winner of a host of fan's Player of the Year awards, was tracked by then manager Bobby Williamson for a while during the summer of '99 and must surely rank as one of his finest acquisitions ever. He was initially signed as a left back but since moving into the left centre back berth he has proved time and time again that he should possibly be the first name written down on the team sheet prior to every match. Freddie has fortunately avoided any major injuries in his time at the club so far which we can only be grateful for as the first game he missed in ages (in 2001-02) saw us conceding five goals at home to newly promoted Livingston, prompting boss Williamson to say: "I knew we would miss his presence, I just didn't know it would be that much!" There was much transfer speculation surrounding Freddie when BW left and Hibs made an approach in the summer of 2003 but Freddie refused to even discuss it! It's got to be said though that a player of his undoubted abilities is bound to attract interest especially given his current form. Credit to the Frenchman, he did not court this publicity in an attempt to win himself a lucrative transfer even though he'd have been well within his rights to do so. He just knuckled down and got on with the job in hand...long may it continue. Fan's Comments
