Player Profile: 06 - Freddie Dindeleux

Full Name: Frederic Dindeleux

Nickname: Freddie

Position: Defender Centre/Left

Date of Birth: 23rd July 1974

Birth Place: Lille, France

Height: 5ft 11ins

Weight: 12st 6lbs

Former Clubs: Olympique Lille SC

Signed for Killie: 23rd July 1999

Contract Ends: 23rd July 2004

Notes: Freddie, winner of a host of fan's Player of the Year awards, was tracked by then manager Bobby Williamson for a while during the summer of '99 and must surely rank as one of his finest acquisitions ever. He was initially signed as a left back but since moving into the left centre back berth he has proved time and time again that he should possibly be the first name written down on the team sheet prior to every match. Freddie has fortunately avoided any major injuries in his time at the club so far which we can only be grateful for as the first game he missed in ages (in 2001-02) saw us conceding five goals at home to newly promoted Livingston, prompting boss Williamson to say: "I knew we would miss his presence, I just didn't know it would be that much!" There was much transfer speculation surrounding Freddie when BW left and Hibs made an approach in the summer of 2003 but Freddie refused to even discuss it! It's got to be said though that a player of his undoubted abilities is bound to attract interest especially given his current form. Credit to the Frenchman, he did not court this publicity in an attempt to win himself a lucrative transfer even though he'd have been well within his rights to do so. He just knuckled down and got on with the job in hand...long may it continue.

Fan's Comments

Killie Damo: The best foreign import ever at Killie. Fantastic player who has also shown loyalty to the club. A cool, calm composed defender.

killie paddy: The clubs best player at this present moment, great defender, and a man of the match contender on his day.

Killie 75: He is a brilliant defender and he always gives 100% for Killie.

Special K: Usually excellent, occasionally shocking...no middle ground for Freddie.

weefatbob: Has to be classed as the best foreign import to RP. Will be sorry when he eventually leaves.

eddie: Best Player so far this season and one of the best we have made!

killiesazza: One of the best players to be imported to RP a great investment! Can read the game well and is even known to score a goal now and then! Not known for his pace but is an all round good player and I think when the time comes to leave Killie may miss him.

The Shark: One word - class.

alan g: Freddy, has been the most consistent player at RP so far this season, Keep up the good work.

Nigel4: Best defender we've had since Monty. Always thought he would leave for a higher level, but extremely happy that he's stayed with us.

killie billies pal: Should have sold him last year, past his best. No, no, I'm joking. Without doubt one of the best ever signings for the club, just wish his commitment and loyalty was commonplace.

Suzy: A great player who is always 100% committed. Although he's not the fastest of players he is usually reliable. Has been one of our better players so far this season.

minikillie: Not the quickest but that doesn't matter when you can read the game as well as Freddie. Amazing player, on his game, is the best defender in Scotland, bar none. Surprised, but bloody grateful, that he hasn't been taken down South. Vive la France.

dave: Class defender who can read a game well but has not been picked up by a bigger club due to his lack of pace. Saying that, you see him caught out quite often when you see the telly highlights of goals scored against us, so prone to a few mishaps then! Not captain material obviously as we saw last season but loyal to a fault, and you don't get much of that these days.
