Player Profile: 07 - Jamie Fowler

Full Name: James Fowler

Nickname: Fow

Date of Birth: 26th October 1980

Birth Place: Stirling

Height: 5ft 10ins

Weight: 11st 3lbs

Former Clubs: Gairdoch BC, Killie Youth

Signed for Killie: 18th October 1987

Contract Ends: ?

Notes: Notes: Jamie is another product of Alan Robertson's youth team, and more proof, should we need it, that producing our own talent is the best way forward for the club. Jamie has been utilised in the first team in almost every position bar in goals and is a great asset to have in the squad. Unfortunately for Jamie his versatility and the fact that he can't be easily pigeonholed to one position has probably held him back in that he qualifies as the perfect substitute because he can play anywhere. Saying that, his preferred role is probably on the right hand side either at full back, wing back or further forward on the wing. He has bags of skill and personally I prefer to see him playing further up the park where his pace can be put to better use. I'm glad to say that he has just signed a two year extension to his current contract and no doubt will continue to impress and become a first team regular in time. Jamie has three Scottish caps at Under 21 level.

Fan's Comments

Killie Damo: Still has potential. Has dodgy positional sense at the minute but that should come with experience. Needs a rest from the 1st team at the moment as he's not playing well. Still will be 1st teamer long term though.

Killie 75: James is a good player who always gives 100% when he plays.

killiesazza: The boy can sure run has lots of potential but needs consistency.

The Shark: Needs to go out into games with the "I'm going to get f**ked right into this lot" attitude, as he seems to be a bit too easy at times.

wee fat bob: Not had the best of starts to the season, but one really good game could turn that around. Good going forward and getting back just needs a wee bit more confidence.

killie billies pal: Great athlete, just needs to do some shooting practice.

Suzy: Not quite sure where his best position is. His speed is his strongest asset and always seems to work hard.

alan g: James can run like f**k, but needs to get some composure, he seems to lose his bottle when he puts the ball in the box. Hopefully James will mature and learn, good worker, He'll be a consistent player given time.

eddie: Needs to learn how to cross a ball.

angus craig: Flying machine, and a cracking player. Just wish he would learn to shoot when he gets the chance.

minikillie: Needs to be a bit more direct at times - but could say that about a lot of our squad! Talented player but takes a lot of undue stick from the East Stand at times. Good skillful player who deserves 100% backing from us ALL the time.

dave: Clearly suffers from the 'versatile' tag and is deployed wherever there is a gap, to the detriment of his game in my opinion. Still has potential but needs a rest if he is ever to progress.

boagsta: Needs to believe in his own ability - to his merit gets himself into great attacking positions but often hesitates. Fans would rather see a shot go narrowly over or wide than no shot at all. Has the potential to develop alongside Canero and we'd have the best and fastest wingbacks in Scotland.
