Killie had former Motherwell goalkeeper Francois Dubourdeau
on the bench as a triallist against Rangers at Ibrox
today, following an injury to Graeme Smith, who is
out for three months.
Smith has yet to make a first team start for Killie.
Dubourdeau will be remember most by Killie fans
for his Red Card for needlessly elbowing Craig Dargo (remember him?),
back on
Jan 29th 2003, which was a Weds PM game.
Dubourdeau's
red card also gifted Killie a penalty that Kris Boyd converted to ensure
all 3 points for Killie (after they had just beaten us in the cup)
The Frenchman will have a further chance to win an
extended contract in a reserve game against Rangers on Monday,
although Killie manager Jim Jefferies
is reported to have another triallist lined up
also.
Colin Meldrum blotted his copybook as he attempted to
make the No.1 jersey his own, gifting Peter Lovenkrands the opening goal
by dropping a cross at the striker's feet, while
being unimpeded. Lovenkrands then had a simple
"tap-in" from one yard out! Killie went on to lose
0-4 on opening day to the Champions.
