Last week Killie were given a going-over
by Hearts. Boss Jim Jefferies had a right pop in public, so you can
only guess what he said to the team in the dressing room. Result? Well
Killie put in
their best performance of the season at the City Stadium on Saturday.

.... ``When you look at the way we have been playing,
it's fair to say there was plenty of scope for improvement.
``I would hope that what happened at
Hearts last week spurs us on to a great run now, as we did last season
after that game at Thistle. We didn't play sparkling football at
Livingston but we were a man down for a lot of the second half and
have to be delighted with a win.
``We switched to three at the back and
looked more balanced. It felt better and hopefully we can now put a
run together.
``I'm like the rest of the team in that I
haven't kicked a ball since the start of the season. I wasn't
excellent today but was certainly better.
``We don't set out to play badly. You
can't really work out why, sometimes, you just don't play well. If we
knew how to change that then we'd all be outstanding every single
week.''
Fulton on the
OFGTF....: ``Nobody likes to admit that they are not
going to be either first or second, but that's the reality of the
situatio
n.
``Although the Old Firm do bring a lot to
the league, we would have a great championship if you took those two
out if it.
``I don't think the league would crumple
if they left. Teams would find their level and I'm sure a lot more
fans would follow Kilmarnock if they thought their team had a chance
of winning the league. I'm sure that's why so many people stay away.
``We finished 40 points behind the Old
Firm last season, which is pretty ludicrous.''
