As the transfer window gets ready to re-opem Killie boss Jim
Jefferies talkf about his capabilities to changes the current squad.....
"Like every other team, you can never say never.
"We have a strict budget and I have to work to it. If somebody is not
happy being out of the team or, if somebody makes an offer, then that
frees up some money in wages. The board know I can use that.
"As long as I am under budget, I can do as I please in some ways.
"But, right now, we are at the limit with the budget so we have to wait
and see what happens.
"We are not forcing anybody but someone may express an interest in one
of our players.
"That would free up some money and I may choose to use it in January or
save it until the end of the season.''
On avoiding over-spending...
"Everyone is aware the Klondike period is over in football and you have to
work within your means.
"We have only got what we have got and, if you have no money, so be it.
"If we did have some cash spare, I would try to improve the team with
it, but you then have to make sure you pick up the best you can with the
money you have.
"Top players are not available at the money we can pay but we can look
around and see if we can find people who can do a job for us.
"You don't always get it right but, hopefully, you will get more right
than wrong and you do OK.''
