Breaking News From Rugby Park

A spokesperson for Kilmarnock Football Club today confirmed the transfer of Peter Canero to Leicester City for a reasonable fee. (Specific fee amount was withheld per the Foxes request). Owing to conjecture on this site's messageboard, Killie wanted to make it clear, that Gordon Smith was not involved in this transfer in any way. The players agent Mr Starks was who brokered the deal.

It is further understood the monies will be deposited to KFC by Monday of next week. There were no reported sell-on clauses, or other such stipulations.

It is expected that a portion of these monies will be made available to manager Jim Jeferries, who has had his eye on half a dozen or so players including a goalkeeper.

Jefferies may also be keen on the idea of bringing in some big name players, on a loan type basis (that are not getting 1st team football with their present club... the list is endless all over Europe!), where Killie would pay a portion of the players wages.

It was further reporter that Canero is hoping to conduct the half-time draw in next month's Scottish Cup home tie Vs Rangers.

Lastly, it was stated that Pedro was only keen to move on with a transfer that would help Killie out (ie no pre-contract situations with other club's (Celtic was reported to be a non-starter) where Peter would leave Rugby Park for nothing!)

Hope this helps clear up up some of the "loose ends" regarding some of the "open topics" on our messageboards....."KTID".... Allan
