Jim Jefferies & Danny Invincibile talk about injuries and Danny
coming to Killie....(on the eve on the Hearts home match!).
JJ On Signing Danny... . “We
took him to Italy and he impressed us in all the
pre-season games. The first league game was at Ibrox and we thought he did
quite well that day as well.
“Against Partick Thistle in the second, he was really looking the part
for 20 minutes until David Lilley crocked him and he was out for a while.
When he came back nothing seemed to go right for him. He wasn’t 100%, and
the injury came back after four games in the first team and kept him out
until January.”
Invincibile on his Injury...“It’s
more frustrating than anything, When you come to a new club you want to
show people straight away what you can do, and if you are an attacking
player you want to score some goals.

“It’s just a shame that the injury came, and it was far worse than
anything else I had had before. It kept me out for about four months and
in that regard it has been a tough time. But it happens, it’s part of
football, and if you can’t handle it you shouldn’t play the game.”
Invincibile on Lilley....
“It’s funny. You are out for so long and then David signs for the club. He
apologised straight after the Partick game, so when he came here I just
went up behind him and pretended to kick him. If I did a bad tackle on
someone and didn’t mean it, I’d hope they wouldn’t hold a grudge either.”
JJ on the Boyd-Invincibile Partnership...“Every
time he (Danny Boy) was up in that last third, he was a threat, He looked
like the player that we signed and who played so well in the first couple
of games before his injury. He needs to keep it going between now and the
end of the season. "/Boyd%20Danny%20Celeb.jpg)
“The goals last Saturday are bound to have done his confidence the
power of good. Getting two, and having a big hand in our penalty, he was a
big plus for us, and he linked well with Boyd. Sometimes when you throw a
partnership together it takes a few games to work, but it looked like they
could trouble people.
“I thought it was Boyd’s best game for a while because he won
everything in the air, and he’ll have to do that at the weekend because
Hearts are very strong in the air at the back.”
JJ on Hearts.... “Craig has
done a great job. He’s gone in there and built his own team. I heard him
make a comment on the radio that he doesn’t like it when people say Hearts
are a big strong side, but you have got to be big and strong in this
league. Celtic are, and you have to be able to compete with them, but the
Hearts supporters, having been there and knowing them, do like you to win
with a bit of style.”
