Without Freddie & Gordon Greer, it was again a "make-shift" assembled
Killie defence that had to deal with an inform Hibs side.

After starting brightly and Boyd missing 2 good opportunities,
Derek Riordan went on to net three times as Hibernian beat Kilmarnock at
Easter Road, to make amends for their
opening day loss to the Ayrshire men.
Riordan neatly stepped past a defender and calmly rolled the ball
into the corner of the net after half an hour.
Four minutes later, Garry O'Connor set Riordan up and the youngster
swept a shot past Killie goalkeeper Alan Combe.
Riordan completed his hat-trick in the 52nd minute with a powerful
shot from 18 yards after a swift counter-attack from the home side.
Killie will rue, what could have been oh-so different had they taken
their early chances, to get on the score-sheet first!
Also with David
Lilley being sub-ed off at half-time, manager Jefferies is going to have
his work cut-out for him, to put together a formation, that will keep
Celtic at bay, who come calling to Rugby Park next Sunday!
