Boyd Transfer Speculation Grows!
(May 5th 2005)

Kilmarnock manager Jim Jefferies admits the cash-strapped Ayrshire side will have no option but to consider an offer from Aberdeen for striker Kris Boyd.

Boyd will be asked to extend his current deal which has still a year to run but with the Pittodrie club understood to be waiting in the wings to pounce,

JJ Said.... "Kris is the same as any other player at Kilmarnock and 90% of other clubs, if somebody comes in with a good offer it would have to come under consideration.

"If the offer is not good enough then he stays here.

"But we're not looking to sell him, we are looking to extend it and he says he will be happy to sit down and listen to what we have to say."

Boomer said... "If it comes down to it and the club decide to sell me then there's nothing I can do about it.

"I've done my job on the park for them and I'd like to think we'd both be happy if it came to that.

"But I've still got another year after this and I'd like to see who is going to be here next season before I say I'm going to be signing here or I'm going to do this or that.

"I haven't been offered anything yet but the manager has said there will be something on the table and we'll look at it once it comes.

"You never know what's around the corner so we just need to wait and see."

"It's no secret that I'm ambitious and I want to go places but I'm happy here at the moment.

"Since I broke into the Kilmarnock first team there's been speculation about me, I should have been going here and I should have been going there.

"I've said before that I've wanted to play in England but there will be an age and a time that I'll be ready to go.

"Towards the end of last season I could have said, 'yes, I'm ready' but I've had a few injuries this season and I've not been that great, I haven't been playing to the standards that I've set."

The Rugby Park club remain in debt to the tune of around £11million and were bailed out again recently by chairman Jamie Moffat, who dipped into his own pocket to service yet another interest payment.

Killie also have 10 first team players who are out of contract this summer
