Three In A Row For Ladies Team

FC Killie Ladies 4 - 0 Queen's Park
(SWPL11 - Glasgow Green, 15th March 2006, 19:30 Kick Off)

FC Killie Ladies played a short notice midweek fixture on Wednesday night against Queen's Park. It was supposed to be a home game for the Ayrshire side but with further bad weather meant that the grass pitches were once again unavailable and with fixtures piling up it was decided to play the game at Glasgow Green on the Astroturf pitch.

Killie still have a third round Scottish Cup tie against Hamilton to play and it has been re-arranged (for the third time) for this Sunday at Stonehouse Juniors ground. Kick off, depending on the rain and snow situation, will be at 14:00.

As it happened, the plastic surface had no ill effect on the Killie performance and they won the game convincingly 4-0. A Becky Stokes brace puts her top of the Hotshots chart (not counting friendlies) and we are assured that her first goal was in fact a shot and not a misplaced cross!

Julie 'Smudger' Smith chipped in with her third of the season and defender Tracey Burns is now so used to scoring that she feels it necessary to play keepy-uppy first before despatching one into the net. What an entertainer, nothing like a bit of showboating Burnsey eh?

FC Kilmarnock Ladies Team: Mills, Smith (c), Burns, Fowler, Quinn, K.McLaughlin, McDonald, Love, Docherty, Stokes (Torrance 85), Woods (Davies 45).
Subs (unused): Payne, B.McLaughlin.
