Killie fought back from a shock Stirling
Albion opener to claim a 4-1 win in the CIS Insurance Cup second round
at Rugby Park.
The Bell's Second Division side stunned the hosts when former Hearts
striker Steven Boyack hit home in the 11th minute.
But Killie midfielder Rhian Dodds equalised three minutes before the
break.
After the interval, it was plain sailing for the Bank of Scotland
Premier League as goals from Danny Invincibile, Gary Wales and Paul Di
Giacomo ensured progress to round three.
But, despite having by far the bulk of possession, Killie had found
great difficulty in breaking down the visitors' defence in the opening
45 minutes.
Albion got off to the best possible start with a super goal from
Boyack.
He collected Killie goalkeeper Alan Combe's poor clearance 45 yards
from goal and steered the ball into the empty net.
Killie were stung into action but could not find a way through a
packed Stirling defence.
Colin Nish and Steven Naismith both came close but Myles Hogarth in
the visitors' goal dealt capably with anything which came his way.
But, in the 42nd minute, the SPL side were level.

Peter Leven split the Albion defence with a perfect pass and
Rhian Dodds curled the ball into the
corner of the net, for a peach of a goal. (above).
Danny Invincibile eased the
pressure on Kilmarnock in the 56th minute when he ran from the halfway
line and blasted the ball past Hogarth, for Killie's
2nd, another great goal!
Albion substitute Robert Dunn almost netted the equaliser in the 73rd
minute with his first touch of the ball, but his powerful shot came back
off the post with Combe well beaten.
But Killie substitute Gary Wales
put the game beyond doubt when he took a Nish pass in his stride and
shot through Hogarth's legs.
The tiring Binos held out until the 90th minute before another
substitute, Paul Di Giacomo,
netted the home side's fourth.
