Bad news all round for the FC Kilmarnock Ladies team as they lost 2-0 at home to nearest rivals Glasgow City on Tuesday night. Apparently Cove didn't bother turning up last Thursday so it is unsure whether the game will have to be replayed or the points awarded to Killie. Thursday 22nd Dec...
Chairman Michael Johnson told the shareholders at last night's AGM that the club have accepted an offer from Rangers for free-scoring Kris Boyd. With the compensation rules due to change in a few months, not in our favour, the club made the decision that they would have to cash in now and negotiated a deal that sees us get £200,000 now and £200,000 next year plus a percentage of any future sale. Apparently the huns are skint and cannot afford to do it any other way! MJ told killiefc.com "You wouldn't believe the deal they first came up with, £200k up front and £25k after 50 appearances, then another £25k after 100 appearances...I told them not to bother sending it." Jim Jefferies confirmed that Boyd will not play for Ayrshire's finest again in case injury affected the deal, the strikers currently on our books will be given a chance to fill Boomer's boots but failing that JJ will spend the wages freed up on a replacement and will check out a few players during the January transfer window. On a personal note we'd like to wish the big man luck but considering where he is going we will stop short at "Thanks for some good times and some great goals Boydie, may you never score at Rugby Park again unless it's for the mighty Killie or Scotland!"

Wednesday 21st Dec...

Sunday 19th June... It looks as if Kris Boyd won't be signing a new deal at Rugby Park. Speaking to killiefc.com at A*r Racecourse yesterday Kris said that the deal he had been offered was way below what he was looking for but that he would be happy to see out his contract at Rugby Park. He also said that he was not interested in going to Aberdeen and as far as he was aware there has been no firm offers made for him by any of the teams being touted in the press. The ball is now back in the clubs court...we can either keep him here for the season and accept whatever compensation we are due when he moves on, offer him a better contract to extend his deal by a couple of years (Boomers preferred option) or sell him to the highest bidder before January and take whatever cash we can get to pay off some of our debt.
