Notes:
David started his career at Queen of
the South where he spent four years before being picked up by
Aberdeen. He was very unlucky with injuries at the Dons and was
farmed out to Ross County to regain fitness. David signed for
Partick in 2002 and was
rated as one of their best players. He first
came to the attention of Killie fans when he took out new signing
Danny Invincibile with a shocking challenge and was sent off at
Rugby Park. A few months later Killie were shipping out the high
earners and when former Premiership right back Greg Shields was
shipped out to Dunfermline, Jim Jefferies swooped for Lilley as a
direct replacement...at a fraction of the wages. It proved to be a
real master stroke and shrewd piece of business by JJ. Lilley is a
good full back but he has proved to be an even better central
defender. He can tackle, man mark, has decent distribution and above
all is a great header of the ball. Does really well coming forward
at set pieces. |
