Sandy
(Hippo) Armour handed over a cheque for £1,352 to Andy Millar, chairman
of the Fifty for the Future Board, last week. The money raised was
originally going to be used to pay to get kids in to Rugby Park but
since then the club has been allocating free tickets to schools and such
via the Kilmarnock Supporters Association and other cut price
initiatives so we had to find some other Killie related use for the
money.

Several
months of negotiations with the club, through now departed sales manager
Colin Fraser, had the money going to pay for packed lunches and such for
school trips to Rugby Park, but again another sponsor was found to cover
the trips and the Fat Boys Slim proceeds were not needed.
With so
may other fund raising ideas on the go at the moment we thought it
necessary to splash the cash as soon as possible so that our sponsors
could see the money put to good use...and the decision was made that the
best idea would be to put the money towards one of the latest projects
that we've undertaken to help out with...the Fifty for the Future
campaign.
We are
sure that everyone will agree that the FFTF campaign is a worthy cause
that will benefit the team and the fans in the long term and we hope
that we will be able to put further funds in the coffers after the
'fun-run' next month. It is a real pain in the butt having to ask
everyone we know for dosh all the time and it always seems to be the
same people who get hit in the pocket so this time we hope that we can
persuade others to do the run and get different sponsors that way. Have
you signed up yet?
