The FFTF
committee are now back in the swing of things after our “disagreement”
with the chairman and a number of initiatives are progressing nicely. We
met once again with Lorna from Struthers who will be producing bottled
water for us. We have agreed a name and a design so once everything has
been signed off we’ll be letting you know all the details and how you
can help. We don’t want to launch the water over the festive period so
we are working towards a launch date around the end of January or
beginning of February.
One area
we want to focus on is getting more Killie fans to contribute via direct
debit because for as little as £5 a month you can make a huge
difference. You will be helping to save the youth development, which is
vital to the whole future of our club, especially in the current
financial climate. Once you sign up you will get free entry into our
excellent Xmas draw, your name will be included in the ‘Roll of Honour’,
you will get free entry into a game after the league split where you
will also get a free buffet and the chance to meet some of our youth
players. If you are able to afford to join up please do so immediately.
You can drop us e-mail at
info@fiftyforthefuture.co.uk, download the bank mandate from the
FFTF
website or just pick up a form at the Trust desk in the hotel foyer
on any match day…you can even ask the Hippo for a form on the way into
any home game.
Regards
the ‘Roll of Honour’, we wish to thank John Miller and Frannie Milligan
of A1Glass for helping us out on that front. We hope to have the display
in place shortly and we will let you know where it is going to be
situated. The display will include the names of everyone who gives at
least £5 per month to FFTF.
Willie
Fisher, one of Killie’s hard working youth coaches recently helped to
organise a race night to raise funds for FFTF. The night was a great
success and £1,200 was raised which will be used for kit and equipment
for the youths. We’d like to say a huge thanks to Willie and to everyone
who helped him run the event and of course to everyone who made a
contribution.
As well
as generating a long-term income stream (no pun intended) via our water
product we are looking at other initiatives that will bring in
substantial income for a number of years. FFTF Business Manager Dougie
McCrone has been talking to several local companies that are eager to
help and he is confident that we will be able to tell you more details
soon.
We would
like to acknowledge the excellent work being done by the management team
and players as we sit fourth in the SPL. They have been outstanding all
season and much of the squad is made up of excellent youngsters who have
come through the youth system. Well done to them all and we would urge
you all to sign up for FFTF to ensure we have continued success for many
years to come.
