The
Killie Trust’s FFTF board are straight back into the swing of things
after the excess food and drink over the festive period. We are holding
weekly meetings to ensure all FFTF initiatives are progressing and are
being managed the way we want.
After
handing out the standing order forms at the Hibs match we have started
to receive a steady stream of people signing up monthly standing order
forms. We're very grateful for everyone who has pledged their hard
earned cash but we want all Killie fans to help us. If you still have
the form sitting in the house get it filled in and sent back - we'll
guarantee that every penny goes directly to Killie's youth system. One
of the benefits when signing up is that your name will appear on the
"Roll of Honour" and thanks to Killie fan John Miller we'll be taking
delivery of the display board shortly. We have not agreed the final
location of the board but somewhere in the Park Hotel entrance area is a
possibility.
We're
very excited about our "Stillmarnock Water" project; however, we have
received a setback that will cause the launch to be delayed. It looks
like that due to circumstances beyond our control we may need to find
another supplier. We have the product and design etc. in place so
hopefully the delay won't be too long.
Finally, as part of the Killie Trust we are delighted to see that Raith
Rovers are the latest Scottish club to be "community owned". James
Proctor who is a prominent member of the Raith Rovers Trust provided
some invaluable assistance and advice when we were setting up the Killie
Trust and we'd like to wish them every success in the future…especially
against the team directly above them in the league!
As we
witnessed at the recent AGM many prominent shareholders get more than a
little uncomfortable when they hear the possibility of Supporters Trusts
playing a major role in running the club. It's time that everyone
realised that the best way forward for clubs like Killie is for the
local community and businesses to work hand in hand to run the club in a
professional way that benefits everyone. The success of FFTF can only
increase the profile of the Killie Trust who at some stage in the future
will have representation in the boardroom. The Killie Trust will be
rising in profile in 2006 and we'd urge all Killie fans to get involved
and play their part.
