Wales Looks To His Killie Future!

Kilmarnock' mid-week, 2
goal hero Gary Wales revealed he had been relishing his new lease of life
since Kris Boyd's departure....
His two clinical finishes proved the difference between Killie and
Motherwell in a crunch Bank of Scotland Premier League clash at Rugby
Park. (Feb
8th 2006).
Now the former Hearts frontman is also set to agree a new two-year
contract to stay with former Tynecastle boss Jim Jefferies at the Ayrshire
outfit.
Walsey Said...."I just
really want to play. I feel I should be playing and am ready to play. I am
glad I am here. I know the gaffer and the gaffer knows what I am
capable of. Big Kris
has left and it is up to me to take the chance. I don't see the
contract being a problem, there is just one or two wee changes. I didn't
feel I performed but I am obviously pleased I got two chances and two
goals out of it and more importantly we are looking at making a bit of a
gap and so it is starting to take shape. Our real aim is the top six and
that specifically helped us,"
On His Recent Nose Break (in training)....
"It was a freakish training ground incident when Killie
youngster Ryan O'Leary caught me with a boot. I was speaking to a
specialist and he said there was an option to have the operation and be
out for eight weeks or maybe leave things till the summer and see how it
is. I just thought I would take my chances now."
Jim
Jefferies Feb
9th on Gary Wales's Form...
"He has had to
be patient because Boyd was in there getting goals but I said when
Boyd
left Gary would move up the pecking order and he is getting back to his
best. His two finishes were excellent. When you get to a place he is
comfortable with he can enjoy his football again."
